Batemans Bay is a popular fishing destination offering a wide range of fishing options. From fishing off the banks to estuary fishing and big game fishing Batemans Bay and the south coast of NSW has it all! Upstream from the town of Batemans Bay you will find bream, flathead and mulloway. From the bridge to the sea you will catch whiting, flathead and flounder as well as bream near the rock walls. At sea you will discover snapper, tailor, kingfish and salmon as well as tuna and marlin. Many of the locals around Batemans Bay are keen recreational fishermen and you will find the region is well provided with boat ramps, hire boats and houseboats. Located in the historic gold mining town of Mogo 10km south of Batemans Bay, Mogo Zoo is a privately owned zoo providing world standard facilities for over 100 animals. Mogo Zoo have the only white lions in Australia. A must see on anyone's visit. Mogo Zoo is open from 9am to 5pm 7 days a week, except Christmas Day. Keeper talks and feeding sessions commence at 10.30 am and 1.30 pm each day.
